For example, if the suspect is charged under Section 5, or sale and trading of shabu, and the shabu involved does not exceed 1 gram, the suspect can plead guilty to Section 12 or possession of equipment, instrument  and apparatus. That will reduce his penalty from life imprisonment under Section 5, to only 6 months to 4 years under Section 12.
